Hello beautiful!  Can you believe it's September already?  I know it has been a really long time since you've last heard from me. I hope you've been doing well, and have had a great summer.

2016 has been a year of big changes for me. In March I decided to put my business on hold (both online and in person consultations) and concentrate on me. I wanted to make my health - spiritually, mentally and physically, the top priority.

Off to a new start

To this end, I completely moved house from one place to another. I had made a move 5 years ago back to my hometown in the hopes of improving a family relationship. After a lot of effort, I realized that it wasn't going to improve no matter what I did (my brother was not receptive, nor willing to change and you can't keep banging your head against a wall) so I decided to move back to the place where I felt more settled, happy and prosperous.

After moving back, I went back to work somewhere other than practicing in my business. It's a place where I can still share my passion (nutrition and health) and it's been great, but with the start of the New Year (as I call Labour Day) I realized it was time to get back to doing what I really love. And that my lovely, is communicating with you and helping you achieve the healthier life you want.

How I spent my summer (no homework involved!)

As summer comes to a close, I took time to reflect on the past 2 months. This summer has been wonderful for me. The town that I've moved back to is situated on a lake, so many summer mornings have been spent walking along the lakeshore, either sitting and watching the waves roll in, or walking along and enjoying the natural beauty of the lake.

In addition to this joyous morning exercise, the Japanese exchange student we had stay with us in 2011, came to see us for a week. The young 17 year old who stayed with us back then, has now grown into a beautiful 23 year old woman. It was such a joy to have her visit with us and we were thrilled to have her experience a Canadian summer. She spent time at the cottage, went on a wine tour/tasting and spent a hot summer evening just hanging out with my son and his friends.

I also had a lovely 2 weeks with my daughter who moved last year to Calgary (3,379 kms away from here) We spent some time at the beach, visiting friends and family, and had some great mom daughter time together. (Good food, drinks, manis and pedis were involved!)

Which brings me to the past weekend, and the start of a New Year for me. The changes that I made in my life this year, have benefited me in so many ways. I feel more joy and less stress than I did a year ago. I turned 55 this summer, and yet I feel emotionally and physically healthier than I did at 45.

So in addition to the changes that I've already made, with a 'new year' starting for me, I made some new goals - first and foremost for me is getting back into a regular yoga practice to continue the emotional, spiritual and physical journey I am on.

What new goals do you have?

What about you? Does the start of a new school year feel like New Year's to you? What things are you hoping to accomplish in the next month, 2 months, 6 months?

I am working on new programs, and classes and would love your feedback about what you are hoping to accomplish and what you are looking for help with.

Let me know what your 'new year's' goals are! What do you want to do that's new?

We're having this conversation over on my private Facebook group and would love to have you join us there. Click here to join!

Or if you want to share just with me, please contact here. Your email will be held in strict privacy and confidentiality.

Til next time...
